This is my little sister, Hannah Collard, who I began photographing from a very young age, helping to give her the push into modelling. These photos were taken on Cable Beach in Broome.

The photo in the dunes below were part of a feature article I wrote for The Broome Advertiser on her being signed to Chadwick’s Modelling Agency.

Hannah has done quite a lot with her modelling career since, and is now mentoring other young Indigenous Australian models to pursue their careers in modelling.

Portrait of an Artist : BRUCE WIGGAN

Portrait of an artist, Bruce Wiggan, Broome 2011.

Whilst walking around town on a lunch break I saw this lovely man leaning against the balcony by the shops.
I stopped and asked to take his portrait, and asked his name, not knowing who he was, and he told me a little bit about himself. He is an artist and was affiliated with the Short St Gallery.

I later discovered more information about him and found that he is a senior Bardi man from the coastal Kimberley community of One Arm Point. Brice Wiggan is a renowned carver, carving beautiful aboriginal art into pearl shells and has works in many collections including the collection of Mr Kerry Stokes.

You can view some examples of his work on the Short St Gallery website here by clicking the link:
